Anise: This oil has a fresh, spicy sweet licorice like aroma. It is made from the seed. Its properties are analgesic, antiseptic, aperitive (appetite stimulant), carminative (relieving flatulence), emmenagogue (stimulating menstrual flow),digestive, diuretic, expectorant, stomachic, and stimulant. Historically it has been used as a morning pick me up as well as a spice.
