Apricot Seed Oil
According to the University of Minnesota, Apricot seed oil is a cold pressed oil with a faint aroma that makes it an excellent carrier oil. Since it is cold pressed and unrefined it is best to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Shelf life is about a year. Extreme heat will shorten the shelf life. Discard if it becomes rancid or discolored.
This particular organic apricot oil is darker in color and richer in scent compared to others on the market. That is evident on the photo showing two oils side-by-side. The beautiful rich scent absolutely reflects the color.
The light texture of this oil makes it a great choice in face serums and mixtures to moisturize the face. It does not leave a greasy coat on the skin. It is gentle enough to use on any skin type. It will rehydrate dry skin and is most useful for oily complexions.
Organic apricot kernel oil is rich in gamma linoleic acid, or GLA, which comes from essential fatty acid omega-6. This helps skin maintain the moisture balance.
