RELAX & BALANCE… CLARITY OF THE MIND

How do these phrases land on you?

What does it take for you to have a clear mind, in connection with a feeling of balanced relaxation?

S O U N D…. such an epic tool, do you agree? The vibration of music is proven to enhance neurotransmitters that communicate whether we are safe, in anticipation or even in danger.  Think of movie soundtracks!!  Do you know what else has a measurable vibration?

A  R  O  M  A… another radical tool;

Radical because it’s so simple, effective and one we often overlook.  Generally we think of Yoga/Meditation as our first go to, when under sensory overload but what if you’re not ‘in the mood’?  That may be THE LAST thing you feel like doing.  This is where the olfactory comes in, my friends.  Our limbic system is responsible for relaying information to the brain (nervous system).  It’s immediately penetrated by scent.  This happens even faster than physical touch!  An aroma that is filled with treasures from nature in the form of Essential oil components, undisturbed, will instantly ALLways redirect emotions.  (for better or worse!!!)  A scent triggers a memory or a reaction.  If it’s naturally an ‘anti inflammatory’ property, it will de-escalate the monkey mind while soothing an injury, for example.  High quality, clean oils, are as balancing to the brain as they are to the ailment one may be seeking in an Essential oil product.

Clarity of the Mind, featured in September, is perfect for “Back to School”.  Of course use it when at the computer, or work.  Rely on this gorgeous blend to stop a headache on contact.  Apply a few drops to finger tips and massage the scalp and neck/shoulder area.  It’s fabulously cooling, for the lingering hot days in September.  Achy muscles?  Add just a drop or two to a palm of massage oil and soothe legs, back and arms as you promote a sharp uplifting scent to fill the room.

Relax & Balance, also featured, will level out emotional upset. It can be the perfect partner for self foot rubs and breathing techniques.  Apply a few drops to your palm of olive or Jojoba oil and dive in to the right foot, then the left.  After a few minutes on each side, use your hands to do a breath sequence to calm the mind.  Check out this set on the Affirmative Yoga YouTube channel:

Clearing the mind for a healthy body is imperative to feeling GOOD!  Our body keeps the score of our thoughts.  Relax.. Balance.. Enjoy the life you are here to celebrate!!

Amber in Vetiver

An attar is when something is ‘distilled’ through a residue of another botanical.
AMBER sparkles through VETIVER in this scentilating aroma. Amber is a resin
of a type of conifer sap, it hardens into crystal form and then can be distilled
many ways.. THROUGH VETIVER is a gorgeous expression of the oil.

The beauty of this duo comes out grounding and uplifting… as in an aphrodisiac!
Yes, something that calms while stimulating falls into this category. It stimulates
the sensory chambers of the brain while boosting a relaxed, yet curious aroma.
Add it to a diffuser with Orange or Mandarin.. Maybe drop a few onto the shower
corner before starting your shower.. Applying it to the face with a quarter size
amount of Olive or Jojoba is a treat for the skin.. Heck, smear it all over the body
for a sexy aroma (gender neutral) or even add it to a massage carrier of Almond
oil.

In the residue of Vetiver the resin tears of Amber take on both qualities of Amber
and Vetiver.

We blend it with other antibacterial oils & use it for a “deodorant”. ‘Garuda
Deo-EsScents’.. we’ll talk about that more next week!

Close Encounters and the Magic of Oils

Close Encounters and the Magic of Oils

July 17th blog

hOMe from India.. This is my reason for a later blog on July oils.. I am at the airport as I write you…

TEA TREE AND CYPRESS~ featured oils of July

Both oils were used twice “in an emergency” while in India the past 7 weeks. First because I got burned (large muffler burn) and then because an AMBULANCE hit me.. Ummmm not a speeding siren blasting Ambulance. One that was likely on their phone and not paying attention.

The driver should have had Cypress on their skin or in the vehicle.. LOL.. it would keep one alert to such things as a person on the side of the road!

And yay to Tea tree for treating my potentially infectious wounds, in a dirty environment like India!! I made a quick spray of Rose hydrosol and Tea tree. Applied 4-5X daily and voila! Great antibacterial spray on the go. Yup I did add lavender to it and PURE drops of Vetiver, thick and neat, like a paste and whoa was it healing. Some days I used Patchouli and others I used a blend of Jojoba and Sandalwood. I was in the perfect place to do my own healing.

Both July oils go into the Bajrang Deo-EsScents that we’ve discontinued. Why did we do that? It was due to unsustainable Palo Santo since COVID..

GREAT NEWS THOUGH…. I’ve brought home a new oil (will tell you about it in August) that will replace that blend. Still working on the name!

Cypress is a gorgeous citrusy mountain fresh fragrance and when blended with Laurel, Tea Tree and a fine Kashmir Lavender.. Mmmmmmm, uplifting and invigorating. Cypress has strong antiviral properties and acts as an astringent on the skin. Super for preventing ingrown hairs, so, AWESOME in a beard oil blend!

Could I have used Cypress on my wounds? Not the burn, Lavender was BEST immediately as it never blistered because of that application. Maybe the scrapes after the road rash, but only if it’s a last resort. OVER scabbing can also irritate skin and invite an infection. It’s a lovely add in, to a deep woodsy massage blend and promotes circulation and reduces inflammation and pain in the muscles.

Some changes to the website to IMPROVE your experience coming…
